Dental crowns, also known as dental caps, are used in Turkey to cover the existing teeth to restore its shape, size and strength as well as to improve their look. They are also used for holding a dental bridge or denture.
Dental crowns can be made out of different materials such as all-porcelain, all-ceramic, or metal fused porcelain. All-porcelain and all ceramic crowns are more expensive compared to metal fused ones. However, they are better in quality and natural looking compared to metal fused porcelain crowns. Dental crowns, depending on the care, last between 5 to 15 years.
Dental Crowns Procedure in Turkey
After the consultation with your dentist in Turkey, your treatment plan will be decided. Dental crown procedures last at least two appointments. In the first appointment, your dentist cleans your teeth. If you have any decay, he removes it by using local anesthesia. Having finished the cleaning process, he reshapes your teeth by using a special dental tool called dental drill. This way, the dental crowns fit comfortably on your teeth. Then, he takes the copy of your reshaped teeth with dental putty and sends it to laboratory as a sample for your crowns. In the meanwhile, the dentist gives you temporary teeth to wear until second appointment. In your second visit, the dentist checks whether crowns fit correctly or not and if they are in right colour. Then, he attaches crowns tightly on the surface of your teeth.
